Solar Powered Gate
This is an experimental idea and we welcome any input.
Considering that wombats generally move around at night (nocturnal) and that goats generally move around during the day (diurnal). With these opposite lifestyles, then perhaps that can be used to have one gate in a fence to meet the needs of both animals. If we had a small gate that was closed during the day, it would keep the goats in the field during the day when the wombats weren’t active.
However, if the gate was open at night, this would allow the wombats to move through, but the goats would have already settled down for the night. Although based on light, it may take some adjustment in timing to function correctly. This has not yet been field tested, but a possible gate arrangement might look something like this.
